The A46 bypass has been made the boundary for the exclusion zone. This is only a few yards from the market. As this area separates the road from the animal enclosures it looks like it will be closed for possibily three years. 80,000 sheep and cattle are sold here yearly and this losure surely means the end for buiness. Auctions for Wednesday have been cancelled as livestock are allowed to leve the area only to be slaughtered. It is going to cost £9,000 a week to keep the market closed. There is no risk of the disease being passed onto humans and it can only be cured in animals through vaccination.
