Newark council are going to be spending £1,500 sending the the Mayor and Mayoress of Newark to a Newark of the Worlds Reunion in America later this year. The £750 per person trip has been estimated by town clerk Mr Jim Hanrahan and the money has come from the environment and leisure committee. The event is to be held in Newark, Missouri, the smallest Newark in the world with a population of only 100. We are due to hold the event ourselves in two years time, in 2009.
