Newark Food and Drink Festival

The town centre will come to life on Friday 31st August for three days as the Newark food and drink festival fills the market place.  There will be a huge range of fine food and drink to try and buy at Sunday's regional produce show.  There will be an opportunity to shop for food from Europe in the three day Continental Market.  Cookery demonstrations will be going on over the weekend and there is a panel of experts to answer any questions in the English Garden Roadshow.  Visitors from towns twinned with Newark will also be bringing food and drink specialities to sample and buy.  A street theatre is performing on Saturday and Sunday to keep everyone entertained.  The food sculpture workshops on Sunday will definitely keep the kids amused.  Two shows have been specially commissioned for a show on Sunday performed by Newark & Sherwood Arts and Switch.  For the first time there will be a show on the stage called Horticouture where the costumes literally look good enough to eat.
