Newark & Sherwood Live & Local

This event is to be held in Riverside Park, Newark from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd July.  It offers an opportunity for local musical talent to showcase their music.  The organisers are looking for solo artists, duos and bands to be involved.  This is your chance to perform live on stage whether your style is pop, punk, brass or blues, soul or swing.

The Battle of the Bands takes place on the Friday night, and to enter all members must be under 21 and at least one band member must live in Newark.  For further details and an entry form contact Lucy Pike at Newark Town Council on 01636 684822.

On Saturday and Sunday performers will be selected by a panel of experienced musicians using demos provided by the competitors.  The demo must include a minimum of three songs or tracks, either originals or covers.  There is no age limit for this but one band member must be resident in the Newark and Sherwood district.  For anyone with a web presence you can send your URL and contact details to george.sycamore@nsdc.info or put your demo in the post.  Address for mailing is George Sycamore, Newark & Sherwood District Council, Kelham Hall, Newark  NG23 5QX 

Closing date for this section is Wednesday 13th June and 1st July for the Battle of the Bands entries.
