A £2m pub in Fernwood is due to open early, creating 48 new jobs.
The Tawny Owl, owned by Marstons, will open on March 15. Staff will begin a week-long training programme on Friday to prepare for the opening day.
The pub was due to open on March 22 but the builders have completed ahead of schedule.
Mr Steve Smith, the licensed retail manager, said it was important to invest in the local community, both by creating jobs and facilities for local people.
Mr Smith said: "It is going to bring the community together, becoming a focal point. The local community have been absolutely fantastic so we are looking forward to opening."
